Sierra Beard
Sierra Beard is from Tallahassee, Florida, where she is the youngest of two siblings. After her family relocated to Mobile, Alabama, they eventually returned to Florida. Sierra distinguished herself academically, graduating as valedictorian from Spring Hill Christian Academy. Her impressive achievements included receiving multiple academic scholarships and winning several writing contests. Motivated by the health challenges faced by her family, she developed a keen interest in health promotion and behavior.
In 2020, Sierra earned her Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU). Her undergraduate experience was pivotal, reinforcing her decision to pursue a Master of Public Health, which she completed at the University of Georgia in 2022.
Sierra’s passion for healthcare has been evident since childhood, and her studies at FAMU deepened her commitment to promoting health and preventing disease and disability through education. She specialized in Health Promotion and Behavior, focusing on initiatives aimed at encouraging lifestyle changes and managing diseases.
Currently, Sierra serves as a community health worker at Premier Community Healthcare in the Tampa Bay area. In this role, she educates community members about available healthcare services and promotes wellness through behavioral education. Additionally, she provides vital resource information, assisting individuals in accessing food pantries, shelters, educational resources, counseling, support groups, and financial assistance.
