Tonya Brinkley Wright
Tonya Brinkley Wright is a dedicated mother of five, wife, sister, daughter, and passionate educator with over 23 years of service in Hillsborough County Public Schools. Currently serving as a Behavioral Specialist, she has spent much of her career helping students navigate their emotional and behavioral challenges. Born and raised in Miami, Florida, Tonya relocated to the Tampa Bay area in 1996, where she
continues to make a significant impact in her community.
Tonya holds a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education with a specialization in Specific Learning Disabilities and Emotional Disorders from the University of South Florida, as well as a Master’s degree in Elementary Education from Nova Southeastern University. She is also the proud creator and owner of _The Phoenix Financial Literacy Services_, a company focused on innovative, collaborative, and creative approaches to teaching financial literacy. As a Certified Financial Instructor with the National Financial Educators Council (NFEC), she is committed to empowering individuals with the knowledge and skills to manage their finances effectively.
Additionally, Tonya is a licensed Mortgage Loan Originator with Revolution Mortgage, offering financial solutions to clients in need. She has developed and led entrepreneurship and personal finance courses for Solita’s House and the Corporation for Developing Communities (CDC) of Tampa Bay, helping to foster economic empowerment within underserved communities.
Tonya is also a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., where she serves as the Economic Development Chair for the Tampa Alumnae Chapter, a role she has held for the past three years. With a deep commitment to education, financial empowerment, and community development, Tonya continues to be a beacon of inspiration and service in both her professional and personal life.
