Valerie Gordon has been active in the field of education, workforce and training services for both youth and adults for over 35 years. Known for her expertise in workforce services she has designed and facilitated programs that have assisted people to become more successful from middle school to high school to adulthood. A champion for all people that believes that everyone deserves a helping hand and a couple of “do overs”.  Facilitating life skills and giving hope to community and church has been a  rewarding calling. She believes that first, you lead yourself, learn to follow, then become a positive leadership role model. Leadership is the continuous action that precedes the words.

Experience in relationship building, underwriting, contract interpretation, grant writing, and program design helps to gather people and organization together for the common good of people so that people grow and communities thrive.

Finances effect every area of our lives. Physical, mental and emotional. Either we take control of our finances by learning more about it, or it will control us. We do this with education, learning about resources, learning how to budget, getting help when needed and changing behaviors. Either tell your money where to go or wonder where it went. Planning and forecasting is skill that can be taught and learned.

Valerie is a Financial Stability Case Manager at Corporation to Develop Communities of Tampa, Inc. serving families primarily in east Tampa. Passionate about financial education and striving to keep it simple so that people understand it and are moved from education to action.

Valerie is a United States Veteran, (Army), graduate of the Veterans Florida Entrepreneurship Program and is a “Vetrepreneur”.  Founder and CEO of AHA ImPact Coaching, L.L.C, a personal financial coaching service. (there is power in knowing your numbers) Financial literacy is an essential piece of foundational education and is of the utmost importance. Whether we are young or older, the lack of it affects us mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. It must be taught and practiced creatively and with encouragement and patience.

Ordained Elder at Cathedral of Faith Church, Inc. and Vice Director of Kathedral Community Development, Inc., that targets and serves the community.

Valerie is an Accredited Financial Counselor® AFC® and Certified Master Practitioner in Financial Capability, CMPFinCap. She is a graduate of The University of South Florida. Mother of 3 wonderful adult children and one precious grandchild.
